Tactile Book Contest!
Tactile Book Competition
ClearVision's tactile picture books are incredibly special. We're proud to be part of the Typhlo and Tactus group: an organisation which exists to support tactile book creators and encourage the production and use of tactile picture books across the world. More tactile books for everyone!
Every two years Typhlo and Tactus holds the world's largest competition for tactile book creators. In June, ClearVision host the UK judging round, when a panel of our young borrowers will select up to 5 UK entries to go on to the international competition will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, in October 2026.
Anyone can enter, whether it's their first book or their fiftieth! Entry is free and there are prizes. In the past we've had great entries from crafters, teachers, students, stitching groups and school children. Don't worry if you don't read or write braille, we'll put that in for you! See the guidance on our Making Books page, which opens in a new tab, or our YouTube videos (which will also open in a new tab) on how to design and physically make a tactile picture book.
How to enter:
To enter, you need to complete a form and submit it via a weblink (the instructions on how to do this are in the form itself). There are two types of entry forms: form one for those who have created a tactile book based on a story they've invented or on a traditional/fairy/folk tale or rhyme, and form two those whose book has been adapted from an existing published book.
You'll then need to print the form (don't have a printer? Don't worry, just contact us!) and send it with your book to ClearVision by Friday 5th June 2026. Put your book and form in a bag or box and post it to: ClearVision Project, Linden Lodge School, 61 Princes Way, London SW196JB. To send it for free, print this label, add your address and hand the parcel in at the Post Office.
If you have any questions or would like help with this process, call us on 020 8789 9575 or email info@clearvisionproject.org.
Good luck!
