A Braille Reader In The Family

A Braille Reader in the Family is a booklet for parents, wider family, friends and teachers of young braille readers. It contains information about braille and tips on how to support a child who is or who may one day be learning braille. The activities and games have been suggested by teachers and families. Most don’t require you to know braille – although we encourage family and friends to support young braille readers by learning the braille alphabet. Many children will be the only person they know learning braille, so the booklet also includes positive quotes from braille readers of all ages. You’re welcome to download and distribute it for free to anyone interested in learning or supporting a young braille reader, provided the booklet is produced in its entirety and given away, not sold, and the copyright information is included.

If you’re able to make a donation in exchange, we’d really appreciate it, and it will help more families get the books they need.

There are both a A Braille Reader in the Family booklet ready to download and print double-sided onto A4 paper, and A Braille Reader in the Family single page version for printing individual pages.
