Story Books

Most ClearVision books are regular children’s books, the kind you’d find in any bookshop, but with the text in braille on clear plastic sheets, interleaved with the print pages. The text and pictures are visible through the brailled sheets, so that the books can be read by print and braille readers simultaneously. Books are available in Uncontracted (grade 1) or Contracted (grade 2) braille.

We have a huge collection catering to all tastes and abilities. We have short story books for adults to share with children who have not yet started learning to read including familiar friends like Peppa Pig, Spot The Dog, Elmer, Kipper and Thomas the Tank Engine. We have short, simple books for beginner readers, and stories by popular authors like Julia Donaldson, Judith Kerr, Oliver Jeffers and Lauren Child. Readers can progress onto longer picture books as they become more confident. We also have non-fiction on a wide range of topics for Primary-school aged readers. We have a selection of the Oxford Reading Tree scheme, but don't stock full braille reading schemes.
